About West Coast Vancouver Island
The majority of our fishing trips take place off the west coast of Vancouver Island outside Ucluelet. We also schedule occasional trips to fish for large salmon on the East side of the Island near Qualicum.
About Ucluelet
Ucluelet (pronounced you-clue-let) is a word from a local native dialect that means 'safe harbour.' The large peninsular within which Ucluelet sits provides breathtaking natural scenery and has become a popular spot for casual recreation tourism focusing on fishing, whale watching, camping, hiking the Pacific Rim park, or just exploring the beach and peninsula.
During late fall and winter the area is a popular getaway for storm watching. During this time large storms build out in the Pacific and numerous resorts along the coastline around Ucluelet and nearby Tofino are situated perfectly for guests to watch these spectacular natural events slowly build and come crashing into the coastline with awe-inspiring force.
The outer banks off Tofino and Ucluelet are world famous for their big halibut are nearly year round salmon availability.
